Raquel Faria

Born in Osasco, in the Greater São Paulo area, Raquel Faria began her musical studies during childhood, playing wind instruments in a marching band. Her passion for choral singing led her to study classical voice at the Universidade Livre de Música and to perform with choirs such as the São Paulo State Youth Choir.

What genres of music do you listen to?

I listen to a variety of musical styles: classical music, Brazilian popular music (MPB), American pop, and gospel.

What brings the most meaning to your life besides music?

What matters most in my life is motherhood, my friends, and my work in public service.

Who has influenced you the most?

My family was very musical. My mother played the clarinet and my father played the accordion. My older brother was a guitarist and listened to many different musical genres at home. Through his refined musical taste, I discovered classical music and choral singing, and I fell in love with them.

What was your most unforgettable moment on stage?

Portraying Eurydice in Claudio Monteverdi's opera L'Orfeo was an unforgettable experience.
